Burn the chaff-1

Matthew 3:12 “Whose fan [is] in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”
Permit me to share an encounter between a reporter and Dale Carnegie, as told by John Maxwell with you. What really facinated me about the encounter was a statement Carnegie made. I can see it’s application in our focal scripture for the day.
A reporter wanted to know how Dale Carnegie managed to employ forty-three millionaires in his company. He explained to the reporter that he didn’t employ forty-three millionaires but rather those men became millionaires as a result of working for him. Afterwards, the reporter asked him how he was able to make those ordinary men become such valuable leaders commanding enormous wealth.
Carnegie then said, “Men are developed the same way gold is mined. Several tons of dirt must be moved to get an ounce of gold. But you don’t go into the mine looking for dirt, you go in looking for the gold.”
That is one statement that set me thinking the very moment I read it because it is very true to life. The only problem is that most of us have been conditioned to think in the reverse. How do I mean?
The truth is for every grain of wheat, we have volumes of chaff. The chaff are the inedible parts of a grain-producing plant, usually any excess or unwanted material found around the grain.
This is true to our lives. Everyone has “chaffs” around him or her but the truly great are those who have succeeded in separating their chaffs from their grains!
We were all raw with all manner of chaffs that has weighed us down and prevented us from enjoying success as designed for us by God, and until we learn to separate the grains from the chaff, we’ll remain grounded…To be continued
