Capacity Building-10

Isaiah 54:2 “Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes”
Isaiah 54:3 “For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.”
Paul was not talking to some people far off, he was adressing believers! Telling them the capacities they have developed that are not beneficial. You might have some of them no problem, but from today say “NO more.”
When you give your life to Christ, you need re-training. One major aspect of capacity building is training. When organisations want to do capacity building, they simply send their staff for training. To get them ready to handle the new challenge or to teach them new ways of doing things.
The same should apply to every believer, that was why the bible says in Romans 12:2 that, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
In the above scripture, another interpretation of the word “transformed” is to “re-train”! There is a way your mind has been programmed. You have developed capacity for certain things, God is saying those capacities are what is obtainable in the world but for you to enjoy the best of God, do a re-training so that you will be able to develop capacity for that which is good, acceptable, and perfect!
In closing, let us consider this man, he was a professor of Economics, probably trained in the “Harvard University” of his days. He was a Senior Special Adviser to one of the most powerful rulers on earth as of then. He knows so much about economics and financial planning, but has little or no capacity when it comes to the operations of God.
He is actually found in the bible! To be continued
