Capacity Building-7

Isaiah 54:2 “Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes”
Isaiah 54:3 “For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.”
…From yesterday…It was no longer the same Peter, something has changed about him. He has become a man of great capacity. So, how did Peter achieve this feat?
The answer is hidden in the following verses:
Mark 3:14 “And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,”
Mark 3:15 “And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils”
The first reason why Jesus picked the twelve disciples, was “… that they should be with him…” This is a major criteria. Jesus needed them to be with him first after which he can send them forth to preach, heal and cast out devils.
Being with him is simply for capacity building. The disciples wouldn’t have been able to do the other great works unless they be with him first.
To be with him is to know him more and to understand his ways. Jesus is a man of great capacity, he did the impossible due to the capacity he carried. It is only a man of great capacity that can ask the wind to keep still and it obeyed without argument. It is only a man of great capacity that brings the dead back to life as if waking them up from sleep.
So why did he say they should be with him first? Hear this:
Matthew 11:29 “Walk with me and work with me–watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.”
Matthew 11:30 “Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” (MSG)
When you hangout and hang around him, you learn how to cheaply do the impossible…To be continued
