Isaiah 54:2 “Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes”
Isaiah 54:3 “For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.”
Then the man of God made an interesting statement, he said:
2 Kings 4:7 “Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest.”
Elisha, told her to go sell the oil, in the vessels and pay off her debt and here is the interesting part that caught my attention, he said “… live thou and thy children of the rest.” He told her to go live with her children on the one that is left meaning on the one that “stayed”!
All she needed do was get more containers! But, she simply sold off the ones in the container and was living on the remaining one that “stayed”, lack of capacity.
She was so used to “smallness” that all she wanted was to pay off her debt and “manage” her life with her children. She didn’t have the capacity for wealth. She was satisfied with little.
Friend, isn’t this the way you’ve’ve been living? Hear this:
2 Corinthians 6:12 “We didn’t fence you in. The smallness you feel comes from within you. Your lives aren’t small, but you’re living them in a small way.” (MSG)
The above scripture made it categorically clear that every form of smallness we feel comes from within us. It is not God’s agenda for us but our minds have been tailored towards survival not surplus. This has limited what God can do in our lives.
Beloved, the only thing capable of stopping your blessing is you. God says, “Enlarge the place of thy tent…” Yes God is so big and cannot be contained but then he expects us to keep taking from Him…To be continued
