Capacity Building-1

Isaiah 54:2 “Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes”
Isaiah 54:3 “For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.”
I love the above text so much, it is one of my favourites. It is loaded to the teeth. Let’s take a closer look at it. Earlier in the year, I said, how this year will turn out depends on how you want it to. God has already played his role and He’s eagerly waiting for you to act.
In our focal scripture God said, I want you to know that you will break forth to the right and to the left but this will not happen until you do your part, which is to enlarge the place of your tent and to stretch forth the curtains of your habitation. In contemporary English, it simply means, carry out a capacity building exercise!
What is capacity building? First and foremost what is capacity?  Capacity according to dictionary is the ability to hold, receive or absorb something. It also talks about the maximum volume or amount that can be held or produce by you. Your mental ability and your potential for growth and development!
So when we talk about capacity building, we are talking about an ongoing process through which individuals, groups,
organizations and societies enhance and increase their ability to identify, yield and adapt to development challenges. In simple terms it means to train and re-train.
Now that you have these basics, let’s begin to tie things up. The problem with blessing is not can God bless, the problem is can you receive? God loves us so much but He will not give us blessings that will kill us. The same way you love your 5 year old boy so much but will not give him the key to your car to drive himself to school!
