Matthew 5:41 “If a soldier demands that you carry his gear for a mile, carry it two miles.” (NLT)
If you must sell “you” and stand out you’ve got to separate “you” from the crowd and one thing that can cheaply do that for you is the invocation of this great law.
The law was taught by no other person than our Lord Jesus Christ himself. Hear this:
Matthew 5:40 “If someone drags you into court and sues for the shirt off your back, giftwrap your best coat and make a present of it.”(MSG)
Somebody collects your shirt and you offer him your coat! This one seems very tough but it’s equally a manifestation of this great law! 
I’ve read and know this scripture for long but I had a mindset. I see this scripture talking more about allowing peace to reign and letting go of trouble. But now I see it in the light of service! Doing more than you’re paid for! I’m sure you’re thinking of several companies using this law now.
Some will say “for every 3 of our products you buy, we’ll give you one free”. We just came out of the yuletide and several companies used this principle to woo you and I into patronizing them. Friend, apply same to your life.
Others in your office closes by 4pm, take your closing time to 4:30pm. Go the extra mile as it’s popularly said! Let your boss notice you. It might look like you’re being used, that’s the way the myopic mind will see it, but you now know it’s a law and I can assure you, the dividend is great!

Jesus himself demonstrated this principle by going the extra mile in making sure man was redeemed back from the pit of hell and the hands of the enemy. He is our role model.
If you keep doing more than you’re paid for, very soon you’ll be paid more than you’re doing!
