Luke 15:12 “The younger said to his father, ‘Father, I want right now what’s coming to me.’ “So the father divided the property between them.”
Luke 15:17 “That brought him to his senses. He said, ‘All those farmhands working for my father sit down to three meals a day, and here I am starving to death.”
Luke 15:18 “I’m going back to my father. I’ll say to him…” (MSG)
This young man, decided his destiny must change. So he hatched a plan, he made a list of the properties his Father has and what he needed and took it to his father. He didn’t beat about the bush, he went straight to the point and demanded for his portion end-of-story and I’m glad to let you know he got it!! Everything!!
How do I know he made a list? Hear this:
Luke 15:17 “And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!”
He knows how many they are! He knows his Father’s landed properties, he knows about the “cattle upon a thousand hills” (Psalm 50:10), he knows “The silver and the gold belongs to his Father” (Haggai 2:8). He knows his Dad has taken care of his sin, redeemed him and even made sure he doesn’t need to be sick ever again!
1 Peter 2:24 “He used his servant body to carry our sins to the Cross so we could be rid of sin, free to live the right way. His wounds became your healing.”(MSG)
In fact he knows another interesting thing that sums it all up! Hear this:
Psalms 24:1 “The earth [is] the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.”
The so called prodigal son knows this details, that was why he was that audacious! The details of the Father’s will is well documented, and we all call the document “The BIBLE!” But the issue is how much of it do you know and how much of it do you believe? (To be continued)
