Give thanks no matter what!! (1)

1 Thessalonians 5:18 “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
1 Thessalonians 5:18 “thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live.”(MSG)
I concluded our series on “Every time you cross my mind” by asking a question: How do people feel when they remember you? Permit me to add a second question: How do you feel when you remember certain people?
After that series, the question I was faced with from several people was, how do you thank God for people that makes you sad each time you remember them because of the “evil” they did to you?
Paul said, he was excited and happy when he remembers certain people and he gives thanks to God.
Phil. 1:3 “Every time you cross my mind, I break out in exclamations of thanks to God.”
Phil. 1:4 “Each exclamation is a trigger to prayer. I find myself praying for you with a glad heart. We Thank God for You!” (MSG)
But, how about the people that didn’t make him happy and the ones that didn’t make you happy as well? It’s a difficult one but friend, you still have every CAUSE to thank God for them!
I know you feel they’ve done certain terrible things to you in 2014. In fact they MIGHT have badly hurt you. I know you are wondering why you should thank God for those folks who slandered you, deliberately hurt you, poured sand on you, tried to bury you and cage your destiny. Well, let me change your perspective and give you a reason why you should be grateful for them all the same.
Even though they tried to hurt you, keep you down and bury you in 2014, you owe God thanks for them! They are part of your testimonies and without them you wouldn’t be where you are today. The interesting thing is, you are a seed and what do you do with a seed? You bury it. So, those folks who poured sand on you and buried you have done well! (To be continued)
