“But I am like a Green Olive Tree in the House of God…”(Psalms 52:8)
Finally, let’s take another look at our anchor scripture once again.
Psalm 52:8 “But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever.”
Psalm 52:9 “I will praise thee forever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.”
This green olive tree you are likened to didn’t just exist anywhere; this one exists and dwells in the house of God.
It is equally not a “self-made tree”, this one “trust in the mercy of God” and knows that “it is God that has done it”.
Friend, you cannot enjoy all the benefits of being likened to an olive tree outside of God. There is no self-made anybody anywhere, it is a fallacy. It is only God that makes, don’t ever FORGET that.
Matthew 4:19 “And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you…”
Friend, don’t think you will get the best of God while keeping away from him. God is called “Abba” meaning source and sustainer! He is the source of all the beautiful things peculiar to the olive tree, as well as you. He is however not just the Source, He is equally the Sustainer. Don’t keep away from him especially after he has granted you your desires, you equally need Him for the sustenance. Don’t be an occasional visitor to his house and presence.
Beloved, make his presence your abode, permanently dwell there, Selah!
