Green Olive Tree-4

“But I am like a Green Olive Tree in the House of God…”(Psalms 52:8)
…FROM YESTERDAY…Don’t hide your light under the table. People are waiting on you for direction and motivation don’t let them wait in vain. However, know that you cannot give what you don’t have. You will not motivate or inspire others if you’re not motivated yourself.
In Judges 9:8, the bible says, “The trees went forth on a time to anoint a king over them; and they said unto the olive tree, Reign thou over us.” You’re a leader. This is why the olive oil was often used to anoint and prepare men for great assignments.
Ruth was advised by Naomi to wash and anoint herself and put on her best garment, before seeking out Boaz (Ruth 3:3). David washed, anointed himself, and put on fresh clothing, before entering the house of God to worship Him (II Sam.12:20). It was an emblem of sovereignty, and was used to anoint “kings” to office (ISam.10:1, I Kings 1:39; II Kings 9:1, 6). When David was chosen to be king of Israel, God said to Samuel the prophet, “Fill your horn with oil, and go; I am sending you to Jesse, the Bethlehemite. For I have provided Myself a king among his sons” (ISam.16:1).  When David the youngest son was presented before Samuel, he “took the horn of oil… (to be continued)
