Prioritization-4
Luke 4:42 “And when it was day, he departed and went into a desert place: and the people sought him…”
Luke 4:43 “And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.”
The things that should occupy the first place on our priority list should be the most important things. Jesus wakes up early and sort out his day. Where to go and what to do there. He made sure his purpose was of great importance and he was in a hurry to follow his dream.
One funny thing that happens to most of us which happened to Jesus as well was that the fallout of the previous day quickly catches up with us. The “crowd” came to distract him and confuse him, but you realise he had already set his priorities right! How do I know?
You’ll discover that those guys came after him and when they caught up with him, they asked him to stay with them but he out rightly refused. He made them understand that the priorities for the new day are different. They had enjoyed healings and miracles of different types and wanted to keep him with them permanently. Many a times we tend to build a tent at the place of our previous success and this prevents us from lunching out and reaching for more.
So, let’s make some deductions from Jesus’ pattern:
1. He wakes up early: Every successful man knows the value of time. Time is a precious commodity, so before your day gets crowded by with meetings, phone calls and several other activites, you always have the early morning hours firmly under your control. Statistics say most CEO’s of blue chip companies wakes up between 4am and 4:30am, don’t jump out of bed by 6:40am jumping right into the day!
2. Jesus the son of God, full of the Holy Spirit made out time to pray! He made out time to communicate with heaven, his headquarters. I think we should all take a cue from him…to be continued
