Hebrews 12:1 “…let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us…”
1 Peter 2:1 “Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings…”
This is a terrible nut to hold unto. Each time we hold unto it, we are caught in a web of enmity and stagnancy. It drains us of spiritual strength and we invarible leave a gap for the enemy to attack us. When you injure another, you end up hurting yourself as well.
Another popular nut is guile and hypocrisy. Guile and hypocrisy talks about a sense of cunning or artful deception and dishonesty, even fraud, seeing black and calling it white. This is equally a terrible nut and when you hold unto it, you’ll be caught by the monkey-hunter of loss of integrity. People simply walk away from you knowing fully well you cannot be trusted. Beloved, don’t act a saint in church and act the opposite in your office, it is called hypocrisy and it’s a bad nut to hold unto.
Beware also of the nut of envy and evil speaking. Envy is a terrible nut to hold unto. It talks about a feeling of discontent or covetousness with regard to another’s advantages, success and  possessions. An envious man bears a grudge toward someone due to what that person has or enjoys. Holding unto this nut gets men caught by the monkey-hunter of loss of focus and even death!
King Saul got so envious of David, he left the real enemies (the Philistines) that he was suppose to be fighting, he lost his focus, lost his throne and eventually lost his life, how sad.
“For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.” James 3:16
Envy is like a malignant cancer, that eats up anyone that harbours it, don’t let it take root in you. We also know from James 3:16 that this nut called envy does not work in isolation, it brings along strife, confusion and every evil work, beware! To be continued…
