Ricochet-3
Proverbs 24:16 “No matter how many times you trip them up, God-loyal people don’t stay down long; Soon they’re up on their feet, while the wicked end up flat on their faces.”(MSG)
Meditation is work and is not meant for lazy men. It requires total concentration and commitment. One other important thing about meditation that God did in the beginning was His total reliance on His Spirit. In actual sense the Holy Spirit initiated the process.
Friend, the goodnews is this, you have the same Spirit in you and much more you have the very mind that thought out the whole “Ricochet process”. It is called the mind of Christ and this mind is not in any other place, it’s in you! Yes you!
1 Corinthians 2:16 “…But we have the mind of Christ.”
The nature and state of your mind sure determines how you’ll bounce back or if you’ll bounce back at all. Let’s also consider this scripture on ricochet:
Ecclesiastes 7:14 “When times are good, you should be cheerful; when times are bad, think…”(CEV)
Ecclesiastes 7:14 “In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider…”(KJV)
This scripture says (paraphrased), “…when you suffer a setback, meditate!” Another word for adversity is failure or setback. So when this happens God says do what I did, “think”, “consider” or “meditate”, they are all from the same root word. It is the word “raah”. One other meaning of the word is see a vision.
When you meditate on possible solutions, images are formed in your mind. You begin seeing solutions and approaches to solving the problem, this is called vision. It is a picture of the future you desire. I must however warn that there is a thin line between meditation and worry. When you meditate you pick the word of God as required and begin praying with it, keeping it in focus refusing to believe any lies of the devil. But worry is negative meditation…to be continued
