Ephesians 4:27 “Neither give place to the devil.”
Ephesians 4:27 “Leave no [such] room or foothold for the devil [give no opportunity to him]” (AMP)
Now that you know you have a place, your very own place given to you by your heavenly father and you have received instructions on what you should do there, know that there is an enemy, called the devil who will want to contend the ‘place’ or land with you. Either to take part of it or even take over the entire land.
One issue that have generated all manner of problems in our world today is that of land and position. When someone tries to venture into your space, you become uncomfortable. This has been one of the major causes of infighting and wars all over the world. I want you to know that as it is in the physical so it is in the spiritual. Hear this:
Psalms 16:6 “The land you have given me is a pleasant land. What a wonderful inheritance!”
Your place is wonderful and pleasant but the devil knows this too. He will do whatever it takes to take it over from you, no wonder, Jesus said,”…Occupy till I come.” (Luke 19:13). Meaning, to subdue your territory, to dominate it, to busy yourself with your place, to trade in your place. It also means to maintain your territory or position.
What Jesus said in Luke 19:13 was no different from what God said in Genesis 1:28, “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”
He gave you your place but he knows that there will be contending forces to subdue, fishes, fowl of the air and animals that want to share or takeover your space. He said part of your job is to keep them ‘subdued’ by ‘occupying’ your place (same words ie subdue and occupy).(To be continued)
