Place and Purpose

Proverbs 16:4 “GOD made everything with a place and purpose…”(MSG)
I want to welcome you to this great month of October, it is a month the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it. The Lord has gone ahead of us into this great month, leveling all mountains and making all crooked paths straight. You’re blessed beyond every curse in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Still on our purpose series, I want you to know that you are NOT designed to function and perform everywhere. Mr. Jack of all trade ends up becoming master of none. Do you know that even Jesus couldn’t function and perform in some places. Jesus couldn’t do many mighty works in the city of his birth but he did several great works in other places.
Mark 6:5 “And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them”
In Genesis 2:8, after the creation of man, God placed him in the “eastern part” of the garden of Eden not in the West, South or North, why? Because for every purpose there is a place!
Fishes are made to funtion in water, taking in dissolved oxygen, while you are designed to function on land taking in gaseous oxygen. We run into trouble most times when we try to reverse the order. Round pegs are not meant for square holes! Round pegs for round holes, square pegs for square holes, that’s when you get a perfect match. When you’re where God has divinely placed you to function, nobody can compete with you!
Albert Einstein said, “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”
You have genius locked up within you but the genius of your purpose cannot find expression until you get to the “Place” designated for it by God. You don’t belong everywhere, you belong somewhere! Joseph had great dreams, but his dreams made no meaning until he got to Egypt! (to be continued)
