Listen to your gifts-3

Acts 3:6 “But Peter said, ‘I don’t have any silver or gold! But I will give you what I do have. In the name of Jesus Christ from Nazareth, get up and start walking.'” (CEV)
How can God sit down with Jesus and the Holy Spirit (Gen.1:26), only to come up with a man that have no purpose? Why would they sit and waste their time and resources? Even you as a man will never put your precious resources together to make something worthless or can you?
Even though I can’t do the sprints, I can write, handle computers, creatively solve problems and communicate well. I can’t kick a ball well, even though I blame my favourite football club strikers each time they fail to find the back of the net (you blame them too) but I’m a strategic thinker and can motivate others. These gifts are road signs to where God is directing me.
Have you ever considered your talents and gifts? I suggest making a list of the things and activities that interest you in which you excel. You can also ask yourself, “What’s the one thing that I do better than others?” This can give you a clue in to your God-given purpose.
The gifts God gives us are like little seeds planted inside us, but for them to grow we have to use them. This means that if you can’t identify which “Gift Seeds” God has given you, try doing new things that interest you. Through these new experiences, God will reveal more to you about who you are and how He has called you to serve Him.
Peter and John didn’t have silver or gold, we don’t even know if they had the best clothes but they had a Name! That name is greater than any other and guess what? You have it too. When you take stock of your gifts, remember there is a name that gives credence to those gifts, that name makes them active and powerful, that is the name of JESUS. The name energizes your gifts, don’t ever forget that!
