Exo.2:2 “And the woman conceived and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months”
Exo.2:3 “And when she could no longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river’s brink.”
Jochebed, Moses’ mother saw that “…he was a goodly child”. Just like the second woman, she picked up the “shoe” (baby Moses), admired it, fell in love with it but then, she knew it came with a price tag.
The word “goodly” from the Hebrew have several interpretations such as, fine, pleasure, precious, prosperity and wealthy. These are the same results we expect from our “dreams and ideas”. We know for sure that our dreams are precious and fine. We also know that when they materialize, will bring us pleasure, make us prosper, fulfilled and wealthy.
This woman saw all these in Moses but she knew she can’t get all in one day. She knew Moses was a seed for greatness and every great thing comes with a price tag.
She made a plan, just like that second woman. The first thing she did was to hide him.
The word “hid” in our text mean to deny access to; to specifically and favorably protect, to keep secretly. Just like the second woman, the first thing you do with your dream and vision is to guide it jealously. Protect and keep it dearly.
Secondly, make a plan. Don’t ask yourself, “Why can’t I afford it”; rather ask “How can I afford it”. The second woman hid her dream then went to hatch a plan on how she can afford it. Jochebed, did same. She hatched a plan; hid Moses, designed a boat before finally announcing her dream. There is always a right time to announce the dream for the right people to patronize. Pharaoh’s daughter came and patronizes the dream and the dream finally materialize. The more scary the price tag, the greater the success of your dream! Get to work…
