Arise-1
Arise-1
1Sam.16:11 “And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither.”
1Sam.16:12 “And he sent and brought him in Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the LORD said Arise anoint him: for this is he.”
These two scriptures look contradictory. They look contradictory in the sense that in verse 11, Samuel said, “for we will NOT SIT DOWN till he come hither”. So they remained standing, just like when you needed to attend to an urgent matter and you are offered a seat but you said, “this is not a sitting matter”…You know what I’m talking about… lol.
But in the very next verse, 12, God said to Samuel,” ARISE anoint him”. Asking Prophet Samuel to “stand” and anoint David king!!
The question is, how do you tell a man that is standing to “Arise”?
Was it that God didn’t see them standing? No Sir! God is definitely not blind!
Here is the gist: Samuel was standing up quite all right but God was saying to him, you have been standing on the outside but sitting on the inside! Rise up on your inner man, let your inner man come alive, let the real you get up! The reason Samuel was almost anointing the wrong man was because he was standing at the level of men! So he can only see like ordinary men! Samuel was standing at the level of Jesse and his other sons!
God says to anoint the king, you need to come up to my level, you need to come up higher.
What has this got to do with you? Friend, for you to do better than you’re doing now, you need a higher order of thought! You cannot solve a problem with the same mindset that created it! You need to know better to do better… (to be continued)
